DeVos Place Convention Center and Performance Hall

Our firm's collaboration with DeVos Place Convention Center and Performance Hall involved an extensive expansion and renovation project aimed at creating a cutting-edge convention and exhibition facility. Our work included enlarging and reorganizing function spaces to enhance convenience for both visitors and exhibitors. The project featured a 160,000-square-foot column-free exhibit hall, a 40,000-square-foot sub-divisible ballroom, flexible meeting rooms, and a 675-space parking garage. A standout feature is the 450-foot-long, 80-foot-high sky-lit Grand Gallery, which connects Monroe Avenue to the Grand River and serves as a pre-function space. DeVos Performance Hall also received a signature lobby. Progressive Companies, serving as the Architect/Engineer of Record, collaborated with Ellerbe Becket on the design.

Progressive Companies has remained the on-call architects and engineers for DeVos Place including conducting a comprehensive facility assessment and long-term master planning to ensure operational efficiency and plan for future improvements since 2019. Ongoing efforts include implementing recommendations from the assessment report to enhance the facility's functionality and sustainability.
