The relationship between Corewell Health (formerly Spectrum Health and Beaumont Health) and Progressive Companies underscores a shared commitment to enhancing healthcare environments where people can thrive. Our firm emphasizes a deep understanding of healthcare operations and dedication to solving complex challenges, aligning with Corewell Health's mission to “improve health, instill humanity and inspire hope.” The firm has been instrumental in various projects for Corewell Health, including patient floor renovations, imaging projects, outpatient branding standards, and long-term care facilities.

The Blodget Hospital Patient Tower project exemplifies the partnership's dedication to excellence in healthcare design. Over three years, Progressive Companies executed a $98 million expansion completed in 2011, resulting in 158,000 square feet; 132-beds; 14 operating rooms; 36-bed PACU suite, state-of-the-art healthcare facility.  The tower boasts exclusively private rooms, optimized flow, and heightened convenience for both patients and surgeons. By reducing overall room numbers and prioritizing privacy, Progressive Companies created a more intimate and personalized care environment. The strategic integration of modern healthcare facilities into the surrounding residential area showcases Progressive Companies’ commitment to community-centric design and efficient project management.

Corewell's Ludington Hospital expansion and renovation comprised a 15,700-square-foot addition to the surgery suite, incorporating 19 universal prep/recovery rooms, a 6-bed PACU, locker rooms, offices, and a new operating room. Significant infrastructure upgrades, including a new generator and electrical infrastructure, were implemented. Additionally, the Emergency Department underwent expansion and renovation, resulting in a new entrance and waiting area, equipped with triage, assessment, trauma, treatment, isolation, and psyche rooms. Completed in 2013, the project encompassed 66,250 square feet, with a total cost of $11.9 million.

Another substantial endeavor was the construction of two new long-term care facilities in West Michigan.  An existing structure acquired in the 1990s no longer met the needs of Corewell's long-term acute, rehabilitative, and skilled nursing services. Splitting the project into two smaller-scale facilities allowed for a more nurturing atmosphere. Completed in 2022 and 2023, the projects cost $20.5 and $33.8 million, respectively, covering 77,8000 and 105,940 BGSF. Patients gained control over their environment, with personalized lighting and HVAC options. Flexible therapy spaces and hospitality-inspired designs contributed to improved patient experiences and recovery outcomes, fulfilling Corewell Health's commitment to quality care.

The success of these projects highlights Progressive Companies' ability to seamlessly integrate modern healthcare facilities into surrounding communities while meeting the evolving needs of healthcare delivery. By prioritizing privacy, enhancing the healing environment with features like garden courtyards, and expanding operating room capacity, Progressive Companies has contributed to elevating the patient experience and attracting skilled physicians. Moreover, the warm reception from the community underscores the positive impact of these collaborations on both healthcare delivery and community well-being.
