Progressive Companies, in partnership with Trinity Health Grand Rapids and Network180, is addressing critical gaps in behavioral health care in Kent County, Michigan. Recognizing the fragmented services and underinvestment in mental health, Network180 initiated the Behavioral Health Crisis Center (BHCC) with a Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). This 8,600-square-foot, $3.5 million facility, completed in 2024, aims to stabilize behavioral health crises within 24 hours, reducing reliance on emergency departments and correctional facilities.
The project secured funding through Michigan Legislature grants, emphasizing safety, therapeutic environments, and patient-centered care. Evidence-based design includes calming colors, natural light, and flexible layouts.
