Sonic Automotive, Inc. is one of the largest automotive retailers in the United States, boasting a diverse portfolio of franchised dealerships representing over 25 different new vehicle brands, along with EchoPark Automotive which offers a distinctive car-buying experience in the pre-owned vehicle market.  

Sonic Automotive hired our team to rejuvenate the Mercedes-Benz Autobahn dealership just outside San Francisco, CA. The worn-out existing structure made way for a striking new design featuring floor-to-ceiling glass curtain walls, strategically positioned along three exterior sides to capture the attention of passersby on a main highway. This design not only provides a captivating view of the dynamic activities within but also reflects the transparent values of Sonic Automotive and the luxury promise of Mercedes-Benz. The 24-foot high showroom introduces cafe-style spaces, revolutionizing the customer experience. Our involvement extended beyond design, encompassing an "activation" phase that facilitated a seamless transition from construction to operational readiness. Completed in 2018, this project exemplifies our dedication to elevating the automotive retail space.

Mercedes-Benz Denver is a multistory 93,400 sq. ft. flag store, nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown Glendale. The store’s showroom includes a mezzanine, with room to display for thirty vehicles. The service shop below features over thirty service and detail bays. The distinctive tower at the corner houses a car elevator to move and display vehicles. It also holds the pedestrian edge in this urban location.

In Fort Myers, Florida, a second venture involved the design of a Mercedes showroom and service center. This project seamlessly blends a dramatic façade and colonnade with the iconic Autohaus global brand. The showroom's curved glass box, set against a white, gridded vertical wall adorned with the Mercedes logo, creates a visually striking presence. Inside, the showroom exudes elegance with wood, metal, and glass elements displaying vehicles in a radial pattern following the curve of the front façade. Notably, the facility accommodates separate showroom spaces for German auto brands Maybach and Smart Car. These projects showcase our dedication to pushing the boundaries of design, embodying the essence of Sonic Automotive's commitment to excellence.
